A. Zelensky began to study at the Stroganov Art School in 1901. He
acquired a mastership in drawing in 1904. Up till 1929 he resided in Leningrad, then in Moscow. He participated
in exhibitions since 1926. Up till 1917 he was engaged in making tobacco commercial
posters. During 1922-1929 A. Zelensky was Art-Designer-in-Chief of LENTABAKTREST.
As a poster artist A. Zelensky made political posters as well as commercial and
film posters. The artist's works have been exhibited at the International Book
Exhibition in Florence (1922).
