Vassily A. Koroteyev
1906, village Grishino- 1969, Moscow
During 1920-1925 V. Koroteyev studied at the Moscow State Art Printing
Workshops under L.F. Zhegin, N.M. Chernyshev, M.S. Rodionov, S.V. Gerasimov;
beginning with 1923 he kept on under K.S. Melnikov, F.A. Modorov, P.I. Kotov. He
belonged to "The Path of Pictorial Art" Group established in 1926. He worked as
a designer at the Moscow Sculpture Factory; at the Green Theater of the Gorky Park as well as at the
museums of anthropology and history and the Exhibition of Economic Achievements
in Moscow (1953-1966). He participated
in exhibitions since 1927. The 1st Exhibition of "The Path of
Pictorial Art" Group (Moscow, 1927); The Exhibition
of "The Path of Pictorial Art" Group. Gallery Bilier, Paris, France; London, Great Britain; Brussels, Belgium (1928); The 3rd
Exhibition of "The Path of Pictorial Art" Group (Moscow, 1930). Works of the
artist are kept in the collections of the State Tretyakov's Gallery; the A.S.
Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts; in private collections in Russia and Germany.
