OSMYORKIN ALEXANDR ALEXANDROVICH

1892 – 1953

 

Studied at the Kiev School of Art in 1911-1913; in 1913-1915 studied at I.I.Mashkov’s art studio in Moscow.

Osmyorkin is a master of portrait, landscape and still life. He also worked as a theatre artist.

Participated in the exhibition of the Association “Knave of Diamonds” in 1914.

Member of art associations “The World of Art” (“Mir Iskusstva”), 1920-1922, “Moscow Painters”(1925), “Existence” (1926), “Moscow Artists Society”(1927-1932) and others.

Osmyorkin was teaching at the State Free Art Workshops (GSKhM) and Higher Art & Tech Institute (VKhUTEIN) in Moscow.

In 1932-1947 was the head of the art workshop in the Institute of Art, Sculpture and Architecture (INZhSA) named after I.E. Repin in Leningrad.

In 1937-1948 – professor at the Moscow State Art Institute.
